In the early years all our breeding was done by A.I. ... using such bulls as Goldenview Krugerrand, Ruesch'.s Polled Future and Polled Investment.
Krugerrand was one of the best sires on the market at one time, for throwing muscle and all the great traits that the Limousin breed is known for. His semen is still sought for ... and used to bring back some of those old traits.
Our first purchased bull was from Nordal Limousin ... his name was "Nordal Double Hit". We liked him and later bought a second bull that we kept for a number of years ... "Nordal Double Take". He threw good looks, good temperament, calving ease and performance.
We purchased "Majesty" from Stewart Limousin ... who was one of the first Limousin breeders in Canada. We were very happy with the offspring he produced for us. He had a great temperament, wonderful conformation and good feet. Our females from him were pretty darn nice ... and we still have a few in our herd today.
Then came "Secret Service" ... we had the perfect cross here for our "Majesty" females. We were more than happy with the results ... the females from this mating were very fertile, and the bulls were everything we wanted for herd bull candidates. We were right where we wanted to be at that time, and looked forward to more great offspring to offer our customers.
"Secret Service" was sired by "TMF Napolean 734N" ... and his dam was none other than "Ivy's Polled Princess 1P". Who made Show Dam of the Year ... 4 times in a row ... out of 6 years. Just amazing! A multi time winner, and the dam of "Paynes Derby".
Yep ... just like his sire ... "Madison" is a calving ease bull. Slender calves at birth, and then they grew with amazing performance. "Madison" was a real standout in the pasture! His dam was sired by "Double Take".
"Bossman" complimented our herd ... and we couldn't have been happier. I can honestly say ... he was the best bull that ever walked our pastures. He had it all ... performance ... looks ... and just the best temperament. A real pleasure to have around. I can't say enough about him ... only that we are fortunate enough to have his genes running in our herd.
They were such a quiet group!!!
"Handyman" is a son of Bossman ... and his dam was sired by "CJSL Timetraveler 7051T", carrying the black gene. Handyman turned out to be red, and that was what we wanted in our main herd. This mix works great with our females.
"Handyman" is such a quiet bull ... and he throws that in his offspring. He kept the Bossman line going in our herd ... along with new traits from Timetraveler. Works very well. He's got great feet, great conformation and is very fertile. Along with great temperament ... like his Dad.
A sample of the bulls Handyman produces!
Our boy "Primetime" was sired by "Wulf's Xtractor", and his dam was sired by "Ivy's Secret Service". He's proven to throw quality and muscle into his progeny. He's another sire with good, gentle temperament.
Younger pics of Primetime below ...
